The UN General Assembly (UNGA) adopted A/71/462 on 'Follow-up to and implementation of the outcomes of the International Conferences on Financing for Development' (FFD), by which it requested the President of the Assembly to convene briefings for UN Member States by the Co-Chairs of the Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI Forum), no later than January 2017. The briefings are requested to address the recommendations contained in the Co-Chairs' summary of the first annual STI Forum, held in 2016, with regard to the next steps for the Forum. The second annual STI Forum is scheduled for 15-16 May 2017.
