UNESCO Workshop on Flood and Drought Management in Pakistan

This workshop will discuss: training policy makers and managers in flood and drought management; assessing the capacity of existing water education institutes and training of flood forecasting specialists; training water department technicians and managers and updating curricula; and providing education in schools and communities in managing geo-hazards. The workshop is part of a the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) partnership with Pakistan to help the country develop and manage its responses to flood and drought, and to measure potential impacts of land-use, population, climate change and other factors on water resources.
