UNECE Resource Management Week 2018

The UNECE Resource Management Week 2018 will take place from 23-27 April 2018. The ninth session of the Expert Group on Resource Classification will take place during this week, from 25-27 April.

The event will explore the use of UNFC (United Nations Framework Classification for Resources) for the sustainable management of all natural resources. UNFC will aid the discovery of clusters of value through innovative and sustainable approaches to minerals, petroleum, uranium, renewable energy, injection projects, renewable energy and anthropogenic resource management. UNFC can be used as a tool to address cyclical market issues, stakeholder disengagement and build resilience into projects. UNFC assists governments and companies to ensure proper social and environmental outcomes and protect investments from costly write-downs. It helps the resource sector to be transformative, resilient and of value to all stakeholders.
