UNECA 24th Intergovernmental Committee of Experts of Southern Africa

The UNECA office for Southern Africa will organize the 24th session of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts (ICE) of Southern Africa on the theme, ‘Blue Economy, Inclusive Industrialization and Economic Development in Southern Africa’.

Hosted by the Government of Mauritius, the meeting will bring together senior government officials and representatives from the private sector, civil society organizations, regional economic communities, academia and research institutions, as well as UN agencies.

The session will focus on the blue economy, and opportunities and challenges in Southern Africa. Participants will discuss the role of the blue economy in fostering inclusive industrialization and sustainable development in the region by facilitating production, investments, job creation and the reduction of poverty and inequality.
