UN High-level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs – First Meeting

The first meeting of the UN High-Level Advisory Board (HLAB) on Economic and Social Affairs will bring together its 16 appointed members, who are experts on economic and social policy and former Heads of State, Nobels Laurate, former senior government officials and intellectual leaders.

The HLAB's establishment is part of the UN's effort to enhance its support to Member States in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Board is scheduled to meet twice a year. It aims to help the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) in its work to strengthen the UN's thought leadership on sustainable development as outlined in the report of the Secretary-General titled, 'Repositioning the UN development system to deliver on the 2030 Agenda: Ensuring a Better Future for All'.
