UN Development Cooperation Forum 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ECOSOC Bureau deferred the 2020 DCF High-level Meeting until the 2021 session of ECOSOC. DCF 2021 will take place from 6-7 May 2021.

The seventh biannual Development Cooperation Forum was scheduled to take place from 14-15 May 2020, in New York, US, back-to-back with the 2020 Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI Forum). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the STI Forum has been cancelled.

The DCF is the principal global platform for policy dialogue on development cooperation. It works to provide concrete policy guidance on enhancing development cooperation in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on financing for development (FfD).

Objectives of the Forum session include: boosting ODA quantity, quality and impact and the role of all relevant forms of development cooperation in strengthening national capacities, including for domestic resource mobilization, data and statistics, and STI; making development cooperation risk-informed and resilience-smart, with stronger links to climate action; and advancing monitoring, review and impact assessment of development cooperation for promoting results-focus and mutual accountability, including through the 2019-2020 DCF Survey exercise.
