This event is organized by the Global Soil Partnership (GSP) with the support of the European Commission to follow up on priorities identified during launch workshops for the African Soil Partnership held in Accra, Ghana and Nairobi, Kenya in 2013. One of the common gaps identified during the workshops was the need to improve the availability of updated soil data and information to support decision making on soil management. Capacity development in this area was therefore identified as a priority in the region. This event is being organized as part of the International Year of Soils (IYS) 2015.
