Training Course for Island and Coastal Area Biosphere Reserves Managers

The Training Course for Island and Coastal Area Biosphere Reserves Managers is co-organized by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the island of Jeju. The course aims to deepen the understanding of biosphere reserve managers regarding the concept and vision of biosphere reserves, raise their awareness of the vulnerability of island and coastal biosphere reserves to climate change, and transfer technical knowledge. Created in 2009, the World Network of Island and Coastal Area Biosphere Reserves aims to study, implement and disseminate island and coastal strategies to preserve biodiversity and heritage, promote sustainable development, and adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.
