This event will take place on the sidelines of the 11th World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference. Plenary sessions will address: the Global Economy and Agenda 2030: How Can Trade Deliver Jobs and Sustainable Development?; Latin American Challenges in the New Global Economy; and the Future of the Global Trade System and the WTO. Discussion steams will be organized around the following themes: Constructing Better Agreements for Sustainable Development – RTA Exchange; the Future of the Global Trade and Investment System – E15 Initiative; the New Economy; Natural Resources and Sustainability; Inclusion and Development; and the Global Trade and Investment Architecture.

The biennial Trade and Sustainable Development Symposium has been organised by the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) and held alongside the WTO ministerial conference for over a decade. It seeks to provide an opportunity to bridge gaps between stakeholders engaged in the trade and sustainable development process.
