Towards a Resilient Financial Sector: Disclosing Physical Climate Risk and Opportunities

The Global Centre of Excellence on Climate Adaptation (GCECA) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will hold a conference titled, ‘Towards a Resilient Financial Sector: Disclosing Physical Climate Risk and Opportunities’. The conference is the outcome of a GCECA and EBRD joint initiative, launched at the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 23) to the UNFCCC, that seeks to elaborate: ways for banks and investors to assess and quantify the physical climate risk embedded in their loan and asset portfolios; ways for banks and investors monetize the benefits from climate resilience; and ways for corporates to take account of the macroeconomic impacts of climate change in their business strategy and financial planning processes.
