Thirty-sixth Session of ECLAC

The UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will bring together Ministers of Foreign Affairs, senior representatives from ECLAC member States, and other international organization and civil society stakeholders to reflect upon the region's development strategies in the context of commitments under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The XXXVI session will consider an ECLAC position document, titled ‘Horizon 2030: Equality at the Centre of Sustainable Development' during a high-level seminar from 26-27 May. Additional sessions will consider: implementing the 2030 Agenda from the perspective of social and economic inclusion; regional dimensions of follow-up on the 2030 Agenda; South-South cooperation; social policies for equality; industrial policies for structural change; and macroeconomics for sustainable development. The 36th session will also address a report on the activities of the Commission since its 35th session and a report on the activities of the subsidiary bodies of ECLAC and the outcomes of intergovernmental meetings organized by ECLAC since its 35th session.
