Third Session of the Multi-year Expert Meeting on Transport, Trade Logistics and Trade Facilitation

The third session of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Multi-year Expert Meeting on Transport, Trade Logistics and Trade Facilitation will convene from 24-26 November, under the theme 'Small Island Developing States (SIDS): Transport and Trade Logistics Challenges'. The meeting will focus on SIDS-specific transport-related challenges in light of the outcome of the third International Conference on SIDS, held in September 2014 in Apia, Samoa. Issues to be addressed will include: transport and trade logistics challenges; interlinkages between transport and trade; disaster risks, management and recovery; impacts of climate change on transport infrastructure and related adaption needs; financing as an enabling factor; priority action areas and response measures; and the role of partnerships, partners and collaboration mechanisms. The meeting will be open to participants from government, industry and academia nominated by UNCTAD member states, intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), and UNCTAD-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
