The Third Session of the Arab Forum on Sustainable Development (AFSD) will bring together governments from the Arab region, UN and regional organizations, Major Groups and other stakeholders to discuss Arab perspectives on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to enhance political commitments to begin work on the 2030 Agenda in the region. Participants will discuss and agree on future operational modalities of the AFSD as the primary regional platform for cohesive, coordinated implementation of the 2030 Agenda in the region. The meeting is expected to result in a set of findings and recommendations that will be submitted to and presented at the 2016 session of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) and the 29th UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Ministerial Session.
