The Third Meeting of the Ad Hoc Open-Ended Working Group to Enhance the Functioning of the Multilateral System (MLS) of Access and Benefit-Sharing of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) will be preceded by a day of regional and inter-regional consultations. According to its terms of reference, the Working Group is to develop a range of measures that will increase user-based payments and contributions to the ITPGR Benefit-Sharing Fund in a sustainable and predictable long-term manner, and enhance the functioning of the MLS by additional measures. As of 27 March 2015, the original dates of 21-24 April are expected to change; new dates will be communicated in agreement with the host government.
