Third Meeting of Parties to the CMS Gorilla Agreement

The Secretariat of the Convention on Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) has announced that it regrets having to inform Parties of the postponement of the Third Meeting of Parties to the Gorilla Agreement (GA MOP3) to 2017. The third Meeting of Parties to the Gorilla Agreement (GA MOP3) was scheduled originally to convene in parallel with the GRASP Council in November 2016, so that the two organizations could streamline efforts to conserve gorillas in Africa. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP), which physically hosts the GRASP Secretariat, is currently revising its Biodiversity commitments and it was felt the process could impact the GRASP Council agenda, leading to the postponement of the Grasp Council meeting as well as the GA MOP3 to mid-2017.
