The Meeting will discuss hemispheric trends, challenges and opportunities in sustainable development in areas such as disaster risk management, sustainable management of ecosystems, integrated water resources management, sustainable cities and communities, sustainable energy and energy efficiency, and governance for inclusive and sustainable development. It will also discuss effective implementation of the Inter-American Program for Sustainable Development (PIDS), including linkages to the 2030 sustainable development agenda and a resource mobilization strategy. The Meeting is expected to approve a “Declaration of Tela” approving a Strategic Framework for PIDS.
