The Standing Committee on Finance (SCF), established by the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UNFCCC, is mandated with improving coherence and coordination in the delivery of climate change financing, rationalizing the financial mechanism, mobilizing financial resources, and measuring, reporting and verifying (MRV) of support provided to developing country parties. After establishing the SCF, the COP requested that it organize a forum for the communication and continued exchange of information among bodies and entities dealing with climate change finance, in order to promote linkages and coherence. The third SCF Forum will focus on issues related to finance for forests and will be held in conjunction with the Fourteenth World Forestry Congress, in partnership with FAO. The SCF has also been addressing coherence and coordination in forests-related financing during its regular Committee meetings.
