Third Consultation on Compilation of Submissions on Indigenous Peoples’ Participation in UN Processes

UN General Assembly (UNGA) resolution 70/486, 'Rights of Indigenous Peoples,' adopted on 1 December 2015, requests the UNGA President to conduct consultations with Member States, Indigenous Peoples' representatives and UN mechanisms on measures to enable the participation of Indigenous Peoples' representatives and institutions in UN processes on issues affecting them. An online consultation took place in March and April 2016, followed by two face-to-face consultations in May, which resulted in a draft text, “Compilation Three,” issued on 27 May. The third face-to-face consultation will discuss the 27 May document.
