The Third Annual Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-III) will convene under the theme of: Africa on the rise: can the opportunities from climate change spring the continent to transformative development? The Conference will address a number of sub-themes that aim to share experiences, disseminate research results and assess how Africa is coping with the impacts of climate change. These include: the value of climate services (science, data and information) in Africa's development; the way climate policies build effective resilience to the impacts of climate change in Africa; the unexplored options of climate finance; green economy; and the global climate change framework and Africa. The Conference, organized by the African Climate Policy Centre (ACPC), convenes each year under the auspices of the Climate for Development in Africa (ClimDev-Africa) Programme. ClimDev-Africa is a consortium of key African development institutions, including the UN Economic Commission (UNECA), the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
