The State of Food and Agriculture 2012: Investing in Agriculture for a Better Future

This meeting represents the US launch of UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) annual flagship report, “The State of Food and Agriculture 2012: Investing in Agriculture for a Better Future. The event will provide a general overview of the report, which focuses on the impacts of quality, rather than quantity, of agricultural investment on poverty and hunger. It will also cover background work on the impacts and political economy drivers of public investments in agriculture as well as address models for inclusive and responsible investment in smallholder farming. The launch is hosted by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the Partnership to Cut Hunger and Poverty in Africa.
