This TEDx event will feature a live panel discussion with entrepreneurs, humanitarians, innovators, peacemakers and scientists about their experiences in finding solutions to challenges and shaping tomorrow's world. Speakers include: Aromar Revi, Global Expert on Sustainable Urban Development; Beatrice Ayuru, Educational Entrepreneur and Founder, Lira Integrated School, Uganda; Bruce Aylward, Assistant-Director General, World Health Organization (WHO); Elisabeth Decrey Warner, Executive President and Co-founder, Geneva Call; Fawzia Koofi, Afghan Politician and Women's Rights Activist; Javier Serrano, Physicist and Electronics Engineer, European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN); Mahlet Afewowrk, Fashion designer, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Maryanne Diamon, Past President, World Blind Union; Miguel Luengo-Oroz, Chief Scientist, UN Global Pulse; Omobola Johnson, Minister of Communication Technology, Nigeria; and Vincent Cochetel, Director of the Bureau for Europe, UNHCR. The UN Office in Geneva and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) are organizing the event with the support of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the Department of Public Information. The event will be livestreamed at UN Headquarters in New York, US in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The New York viewing of the Tedx Event will be accompanied by a briefing on the post-2015 negotiation process.
