Tackling Famine in the Twenty-First Century

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) will hold a policy round-table to explore what we need to know and do differently to tackle famine. Speakers will address questions including: What is the on-the-ground response to famine and how is it working; What does research say about why we continue to experience famine and what can we do to prevent it; How do we address the role of conflict in famine; As famines persist, how do we improve humanitarian and resilience programming policies; How is the US government and civil society responding to famine; and Have national or global governance mechanisms failed? The event will take place on 12 July.
