Symposium on Sustainable Development Goals and Disaster Risk Reduction

The Project on Sustainable Transformation for 2015 is organising this public symposium to explore linkages between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and disaster risk reduction (DRR), in particular, linkages between the post-2015 development agenda and the Hyogo Framework for Action. Participants will develop policy recommendations for the forthcoming UN World Conference on DRR in Sendai, Japan, and discuss how SDGs can help build safe, inclusive, resilient cities and human settlements, as well as promote better risk communication in Japan. The one-day event is sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, and is organized under the auspices of the UN University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS).
