A side event on 'Sustainable Fashion Hard Talk' will take place during the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2021, and will focus on the efforts by the UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion to map out the UN System’s response to social and environmental problems related to the fashion industry.

The event aims to confront fashion personalities with hard-hitting questions and sensitive topics to explore avenues for turning fashion into a driver of sustainable development and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and also to provide guidance and recommendations for member States on how to move the fashion industry to a more sustainable path. It also aims to:

• raise awareness about the link between the SDGs, UN agencies, and fashion;
• showcase concrete solutions for stakeholders; and
• address challenges of building back better following the COVID-19 pandemic.
