This event will explore the potential of voluntary standards as powerful tools in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It will take place as a side session to the 41st ISO General Assembly (GA), and will bring together representatives of the standards community, UN agencies, corporate entities, diplomats and national policymakers.

The event will present practical approaches for standards users (for example, mapping tools created by UNECE that link standards with the SDGs they can support), and examine four SDGs in detail: SDG 6 (Clean water and sanitation); SDG 7 (Affordable and clean energy); SDG 11 (Sustainable cities and communities); and SDG 13 (Climate action).
