The special session of the UNEA-5 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Environment Programme is scheduled to take place from 3-4 March 2022. It will take place immediately after the UNEA-5 in-person session concludes. 

The UN Environment Assembly (UNEA) is the highest decision-making body on environmental matters in the UN system.
