The 69th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) will convene to discuss, inter alia: the revision and replacement of the CITES Strategic Vision: 2008-2020; existing resolutions and decisions; general compliance and enforcement; review of Significant Trade in specimens of Appendix-II species; trade control and traceability; identification of specimens in trade; and species specific matters. It will also consider Reports of the Secretariat on, inter alia: demand reduction; community awareness on wildlife trafficking; capacity-building needs of developing countries and countries with economies in transition; follow-up of the Youth Forum for People and Wildlife and South Africa’s Youth Conservation Programme; enforcement matters; International Consortium on Combating Wildlife Crime; and combating wildlife cybercrime.
