These negotiations among governments from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) are focused on developing a regional agreement on access to information, participation and justice in environmental matters (Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development). The sixth meeting of the Negotiating Committee will take place from 20-24 March 2017, in Brasilia, Brazil. The purpose of this meeting is to resume negotiations of the regional agreement using, as a basis for discussion, the fifth version of the text compiled by the Presiding Officers, which includes the language proposals sent by countries.
