1-5 April 2019 Mount Lebanon, Lebanon
Sixth Mediterranean Forest Week

The Mediterranean Forest Week will bring together policy and decision makers, forest administrators, researchers, practitioners, donors and social and environmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to share and promote the use of forest-based solutions to assist Mediterranean countries in the implementation of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement on climate change. The event will showcase forest-based solutions to address regional challenges such as sustainable development, energy transition and demographic change, and best practices in mitigation and adaptation to climate change, while emphasizing the importance of recognizing and protecting the social, environmental, economic and cultural value of the goods and services provided by Mediterranean forests.

The event is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture of Lebanon, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO). Held every two years, the Mediterranean Forest Week is a key platform for regional forestry-related cooperation and stakeholder dialogue.
