This conference aims to promote dialogue among parliamentarians from all regions of the world on the implementation of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) Programme of Action, with a view to further collective action to mobilize resources and create an enabling policy environment. The conference marks the 20th anniversary of the ICPD. It is expected to produce a declaration and action plan that will serve as a launching pad for a new phase of commitments. The Government of Sweden, the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), the EU and the Government of Germany, through GIZ, are supporting the conference.
