Sixth Asia Pacific Urban Forum

The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is organizing the Sixth Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF-6) back-to-back with the High-level Regional Preparatory Meeting to Habitat III in the Asia-Pacific, which is convened by Indonesia. The Asia-Pacific Urban Forum is a platform for networking, creating new partnerships, and sharing experiences, good practices and approaches. The 2015 Forum is organized around the theme of “Sustainable Urban Development in Asia-Pacific: Towards a New Urban Agenda” and will focus on follow-up actions to the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preparations for the UN Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat III) in 2016. A Chair's summary of the meeting will feed into the ongoing preparations for Habitat III and inform the drafting of its outcome document. ESCAP and UN Habitat will jointly launch the 2015 edition of the 'State of Asian and Pacific Cities' report at the Forum.
