Seventh International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS VII)

The Seventh International Conference on Agricultural Statistics will take place under the theme 'Modernization of agricultural statistics in support of the Sustainable Development Agenda'. The conference, which will bring together economists, statisticians, researchers and analysts working on agricultural and rural statistics, is expected to discuss changing needs and opportunities for agricultural statistics, particularly in the context of the development of the indicator framework for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference will include plenary sessions and parallel sessions on: poverty, rural development and the social dimension of agriculture; sustainable agricultural production and consumption; markets, prices and values chains for the agribusiness sector; natural resource use in agriculture (soil, water, fishery, forestry, biodiversity); climate change and environmental issues: the role of agriculture; and data sources, data collection, use of information technology tools and data quality; data analysis integration and modeling; and data dissemination and communication and the use of statistics for policy making and research. Interested participants should submit abstracts in response to the call for papers by 30 September 2015. The Italian National Institute of Statistics is organizing the conference in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO).
