10-12 October 2018 Nairobi, Kenya
Seventh Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-VII)

The seventh Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-VII) on the theme, ‘Supporting the Implementation of the Paris Agreement in Africa: From Policies to Action,’ will bring together stakeholders to examine Africa’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and to define actionable climate interventions.

Its specific objectives are to: provide space and facilitate science-practice-policy dialogue to unpack the options available for NDC implementation in Africa; address the missing links for enhanced uptake and use of climate information services (CIS) into development planning, policy and practice in the region, including sectoral NDCs; and understand the various options to finance climate actions, including the modalities for unlocking available and new forms of climate finance, such as leveraging market mechanisms for climate actions and sustainable economic development.

The Conference, organized by the African Climate Policy Centre (ACPC), convenes each year under the auspices of the Climate for Development in Africa (ClimDev-Africa) Programme. ClimDev-Africa is a consortium of key African development institutions, including the UN Economic Commission (UNECA), the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
