Seventeenth Regular Session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment

The Seventeenth regular session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) aims to provide advocacy for environmental protection in Africa and ensure that basic human needs are met adequately and in a sustainable manner. AMCEN also supports the realization of social and economic development, including agricultural activities and practices that meet the food security needs of the region.

The seventeenth meeting will be held under the theme, 'Taking action for Environmental Sustainability and Prosperity in Africa.'

The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Executive Secretary will attend to present on the post-2020 process and road to the 15th meeting of the CBD Conference of Parties (COP 15 or 2020 UN Biodiversity Conference).
