Session Proposals for UN World Data Forum 2018 Due

The Programme Committee for the UN World Data Forum 2018 has invited submissions of proposals for sessions to be considered for inclusion in the programme for the UN World Data Forum 2018, which is taking place from 22-23 October 2018, in Dubai, UAE. Proposals for approximately 80 sessions will be selected. Proposals ranging from panel discussions to mini workshops and data labs, hackathon-style/innovation challenges, and “Ted-talk”-style presentations will be considered.

The UN World Data Forum 2018 will bring together data leaders from diverse stakeholder groups, including national and international statistical systems, academia, business community and civil society, to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, identify solutions, discuss future strategies, and provide mutual learning opportunities on a wide variety of topics organized across six thematic areas of the Forum.

The High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (HLG-PCCB) leads the organization of the UN World Data Forum, under the guidance of the United Nations Statistical Commission and in close consultation with Member States and international partners. The Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs supports the organization of the Forum in its role as Secretariat of the Commission and the HLG-PCCB.
