Themed ‘Restoration in the Era of Climate Change,’ the 11th SER Europe 2018 Conference (SERE 2018) will addresses, among other issues, safeguarding biodiversity, combating land degradation and desertification, and climate change mitigation, and discuss the role of ecological restoration in providing solutions to these problems. More specifically, the conference will consider, inter alia: restoration for biodiversity; the socioeconomic and political context of ecological restoration in a time of climate change; river and grassland restoration; supporting restoration practitioners to make evidence-based decisions; and using knowledge on land restoration to reach the SDGs.
The conference is co-organized by the Soil Conservation Service of Iceland (SCSI), the Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI), UN University Land Restoration Training Programme (UNU-LRT) and Icelandic Environment Association Landvernd, in cooperation with the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) Europe.
