Second Session of Open-ended Intergovernmental Expert Working Group on Terminology and Indicators

The second formal session of this expert working group will meet from 10-11 February 2016, preceded by an informal session on 9 February. The meeting will address indicators to measure global progress in the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) 2015-2030, and DRR terminology. The working group was established by the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and is comprised of experts nominated by States, and supported by the UN Office for DRR (UNISDR), with relevant stakeholder involvement. Its aim is to develop a set of possible indicators and terminology to measure global progress in implementing the Framework in coherence with the work of the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs).
