The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is organizing the Second Meeting of the Signatory Countries of the Declaration on the application of Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, which will convene in Guadalajara, Mexico, from 16-17 April 2013.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and adopt the Plan of Action to 2014 for the formulation of an instrument on the application of Principle 10 in Latin America and the Caribbean, on the basis of the draft proposed by the Presiding Officers. The Government of Mexico, with the support of ECLAC, also is organizing a regional civil society consultation, titled “The Region We Want: Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Consultation on the Post-2015 Development Agenda,” from 17-19 April 2013.
