This conference will convene public policy makers, scientists and members of civil society to promote secure and sustainable development in semi-arid regions of the world. It will be hosted by the Ministry of the Environment of Brazil and Government of Ceara State, with support from international organizations including the World Bank, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
