Second High-level Meeting of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation

The Government of Kenya will host the Second High-level Meeting (HLM2) of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC), which will set priorities for improving development cooperation in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Meeting on the theme of 'Towards Inclusive and Accelerated Implementation of the 2030 Agenda,' the HLM will provide a platform for Heads of State and Government, ministers, heads of international organizations, business and civil society to showcase successes, as well as identify and scale up innovative approaches to sustainable development. Parliamentarians and representatives of local and regional governments will attend the meeting. The GPEDC meeting will include two days of preparatory sessions and two days of high-level discussions. The GPEDC is a global forum bringing together a broad range of development actors to strengthen the quality, impact and effectiveness of development cooperation. The Partnership is based on the principles of country ownership, achieving results, inclusive partnerships, and transparency and accountability. The HLM2 is organised by the Government of Kenya with support from the Global Partnership's three co-chairs (Malawi, Mexico and the Netherlands), Steering Committee members and the Joint Support Team provided by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
