Restoring Coastal Livelihoods: Increasing the Resilience of Mangrove-Aquaculture Socio-Economic-Ecological Systems in Southeast Asia

The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is convening a workshop to discuss the National Mangrove Strategy for Indonesia. The workshop will bring together a broad range of stakeholders to share experiences and lessons learned from coastal conservation and restoration programmes. The workshop will also examine the drivers of mangrove conversion to aquaculture, identify obstacles and opportunities for sustainable mangrove management, and develop participatory models and scenarios. Outputs from the workshop will include concrete recommendations for consideration during the development of the Mangrove Strategy.
