Regional Workshop on African Agriculture in a Changing Climate

The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), the African Climate Policy Centre (ACPC), the East African Community (EAC) and the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) are convening the 'Regional Workshop on African Agriculture in a changing climate: Enhancing the up-take of Climate Smart Agriculture' with the aim to: consider the outcomes of the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 19) and explore ways of consolidating the common African common position on agriculture in the on-going negotiations; share experiences in the development and implementation of the National Climate Change Policies/Strategies/Action Plans with a view to determining their readiness to access climate finance; explore ways of enhancing synergy between the national climate change and agricultural policies and strategies; assess the readiness of African countries to access climate finance; and facilitate and identify climate-smart agriculture (CSA) priority action areas and adopt a common approach to the emerging Global Alliance on Climate Smart Agriculture.
