The Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE Region will take place under the theme “Sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and action and delivery on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the UNECE Region.”
The Forum will consider key actions and accelerators to tackle the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 and to promote a sustainable recovery. In addition, it will include a session on voluntary national reviews (VNRs) and experiences from UNECE member States that have presented or will present VNRs at the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in July 2021, including linkages between multiple VNRs and the inclusion of SDG implementation at the local level.
The meeting will be preceded by virtual peer learning roundtables from 10-16 March 2021, and the key messages from these roundtables will be considered during the Forum.
The Regional Forum will be held in a hybrid format that will provide for both in-person and virtual participation.
The Annual Regional Collaborative Platform for the region will take place on 19 March, back to back with the Regional Forum.
