The third R20 Austrian World Summit will convene under the theme, ‘Leadership for a Sustainable Future,’ contributing, in particular, to SDG 13 (climate action), SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities) and SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production).

The Summit will seek to, inter alia: enhance collaboration and partnership for climate leadership; identify ways for scaling up sustainable projects; showcase best practice examples; and discuss new approaches for raising awareness and communication, trends in carbon financing, the power of cities and regions, carbon pricing, and the climate change-human health-security nexus. The Summit will include the #ClimateKirtag, a public event featuring music acts and prominent personalities.

Organized by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s R20 Regions of Climate Action office in Austria and supported by the Austrian Government, the R20 Austrian World Summit is an annual top-level gathering seeking to create a network platform that will help regions, states and cities implement the SDGs and meet the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
