The pre-COP will bring together governments for political discussions in advance of the 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 24) to the UNFCCC in December. Involvement of the private sector is also foreseen.

Parallel workshops will be held on: a new climate-neutral economy model; the future of production, distribution and storage of energy; e-mobility and the future of transport; and the future of megacities. The political segment will focus on climate change mitigation, adaptation, transparency and finance. The Polish COP 24 Presidency will conduct informal consultations on the way forward following the publication in mid-October of the joint reflections note by the presiding officers of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies with a view to ensuring a swift start of work at COP 24.
