Post-2015 Education E-discussion: Innovating to Educate Girls with Disabilities

This e-discussion examines innovations for educating girls with disabilities through inclusive and special education. The discussion aims to focus on strategies to ensure that girls with disabilities can learn with their peers. The conversation will focus on the following guiding questions: What barriers are there to educate girls with disabilities and why are girls with disabilities less likely to attend school? What are your thoughts about educating girls with disabilities in special needs schools as opposed to inclusive schools? How does government policy need to change to encourage full participation of girls with disabilities in education? How do we prepare the schools for girls with disabilities? Participants are also encouraged to share strategies and initiatives adopted in their communities or schools that contributed to special and inclusive education for girls with disabilities as well as stories about strategies that have not worked.
