Petersberg Climate Dialogue VIII

The eighth Petersberg Climate Dialogue is hosted by Federal Environment Minister Barbara Hendricks and the Fijian Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and incoming President of the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 23) to the UNFCCC, Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama. The Dialogue is organized around the theme 'Working together on solutions.' Ministers from 35 countries will discuss measures to ensure the implementation of the Paris Agreement in the face of new challenges in a multilateral world. On 22 May, discussions will address the current political challenges for climate diplomacy and expectations for COP 23, scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany, in November 2017. Ministers will also discuss ambitious nationally determined contributions (NDCs) and adaptation strategies.
