Youth Climate Summit

One of expected components of the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit in 2019 is the Youth Climate Summit, originally announced as the ‘People’s Climate Action Summit (+Festival)’ in the workplan for one of the nine tracks to be covered by the Summit, focusing on Youth Engagement and Public Mobilization.

The Youth Climate Summit will bring together youth and civil society leaders from across the world who share the commitment to combat climate change “at the pace and scale needed to meet the challenge”. The event will showcase the successes of youth activists, local change makers, innovators and entrepreneurs, and empower the next generation of leaders to take action. The Summit will include an intergenerational dialogue, and is expected to lead to concrete initiatives for action.
