Sponsored by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), this event will seek to increase awareness about the Intergovernmental Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and to bring participants up-to-date on the issues that will be addressed in the Second IPBES Plenary. Presentations will include an overview of the intersessional activities that have taken place in 2013, and some of the key issues that will be addressed in the Second Plenary, including the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy and some of the thematic and methodological assessments that have been proposed as priorities for the IPBES Work Programme 2014-2018.
