The UN General Assembly's (UNGA) Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will hold an informal meeting on 'Measuring progress' on 17 December 2013, at UN Headquarters in New York, US. In the context of framing goals and targets, the aim is to share with the members of the OWG and other Member States, the relevant expertise and experience of the statistical community. The meeting will discuss experiences gained from monitoring and implementation the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in the context of the post-2015 development agenda. The meeting will also consider the implications for the monitoring and measurement of proposals on SDG goals and targets.
